You Are Not Alone

“I am not alone, but the Father who sent me is with me.”

- John 8:16

“I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

- Matthew 28:20

What comforting words from Jesus Himself! He is not alone – the Father is with Him. Then He says to His disciples (and to us) that He will always be present with His followers. Therefore God is with us too! When Jesus’ mission was accomplished and He physically had to leave us, He asked His Father to send to us His Holy Spirit, and God did just that! We believe in Christ and His gift of salvation and the Holy Spirit comes to stay with us. The Holy Spirit was sent to us with a specific role. Here is part of that role:

“The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives - Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.

- Galatians 5: 22-23

How do we rate the extent to which these qualities are established and expressed in our lives? As followers of Christ, all of the qualities should be very clearly exemplified in our lives if we allow the Holy Spirit to carry out His work in us. If such qualities are not seen in our lives, it means that in some way we are obstacles to the Holy Spirit. Instead of cooperating with Him, we are preventing Him from accomplishing God’s purpose for us. We should not want to make such a choice.

Perhaps, we are good at expressing some of the qualities, but weak in others. If so, God is quite willing and able to direct the Holy Spirit to work specifically on our short comings – if we want Him to. What do you want?
