The Love Triangle

“Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me my Father will love them. And I will love them, and reveal Myself to each of them.” John 14:21

Love is such a critical element to life that everybody needs it, from the cradle to the grave. We place so much value on it that if it fails we experience grave consequences sometimes lasting for the rest of our lives. Other times we bounce back and start the search for love all over again. There are also those who never find it.

But what about a love that can always be found, that is available to all? A love greater and deeper than any other emotion? A love which is unconditional and comes from a pure and perfect heart; and you can have as much of it as you want. You can trust in it, depend on it, rejoice and even revel in it. Such is the inexplicable love that Christ offers to everyone in the world. And when Christ loves you, God loves you. This is a love relationship that can never go wrong or even end.

The love which God, through Christ, offers here and now never grows cold and lasts throughout eternity: “…Our Lord Jesus Himself and God, our Father have loved us and have given us everlasting consolation….” 2Thessalonians2:16

Therefore there is no reason for anyone to feel unloved, miserable and hopeless. The purest of love in abundance is ours for the taking. It is actively expressed in our lives when we have faith in Jesus Christ, obey His Word, and follow Him closely. We must play our part in this love relationship. Notice what the verse says will happen when we, in turn, love God – Jesus will “reveal Himself to each of them.” The more we love Jesus, the more we will understand

Him and the better we will know Him.
