YOU HAVE IT!

YOU HAVE IT!

“…We have access, by one Spirit, to the Father.” Ephesians2:18

This is one of the spiritual blessings that God has given to us – ACCESS!

It is not usually easy to get access, whenever we want it, to important people; and it is virtually impossible for the average person to meet certain people - presidents, kings, queens and other powerful characters. But we all have access to God – the Omnipotent, the Omniscient, the Omnipresent, the Life-giver, the Preserver, the Redeemer, The One who is Love, and the list can go on and on. We have access to such a Being! To God!

Very often, Jesus encouraged the disciples and all believers to approach God, to make use of such a blessing: “I say unto you, ask and it shall be given unto you.” (Luke 11:9) and again in John16:24, “Up to now, you have asked nothing in my name: Ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

Even before Christ came to earth, God through His Holy Spirit had been encouraging mankind to approach Him: “He (the believer) shall call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him” (Psalm 91:15). Throughout the entire Bible, we see God encouraging us to call out to Him with the promise that He will answer. So as we approach God, we can be confident that He hears and will answer. We are also told what we can expect from God: “If you then, who are capable of evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him?” (Matt.7:11). Paul too emphasizes it: “He who ……..delivered His own Son for us all, how shall he not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans8:32)

We have grown accustomed to hearing all of this, but have we really internalized such things? How often do we go before God? Do we really, really appreciate the blessing of access and make full use of it?
