Our Mark of Honor

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine!” Isaiah 43:1

You have been summoned by name! - God has called you for redemption; to make you His! - His child! His heir!

Because this is absolutely true of each one of God’s children, we can shine as a beacon of hope in our dark world to other people who do not know God. Our lives can light the way for those who are lost, helping them to find their way home to the Father. This same God who called us, also said “You are the light of the world.” (Matt.5:14)

Wherever we go we can be “Jesus” to those around us. This is why The Holy Spirit has come to dwell in us so that we can reflect Christ. No doubt we will fail from time to time in showing Christ’s love, but we must always persist. We may sometimes miss the mark and drop the ball, but even then God will not disown us – He is our faithful Father and will never disinherit us. He will never stop loving us and claiming us as His.

That unconditional acceptance and love given to us by Jesus on the cross should create courage in our hearts, stirring our zeal for the service to which Jesus has called us. We must love actively, positively, without looking for a reward or paycheck because Jesus first loved us. We are marked as Christ’s own and there is no higher honor!

May Jesus energize my love and may others see Him in me and be drawn to Him.
