Perfect Peace

God will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is fixed on Him, and you trust in Him.

Isaiah 26-3

The peace of God in the life of the Christian is emphasized in so many passages in the Bible and gives much comfort and stability in a troubled world that lacks the peace that Christ talked about.

This verse deals with three main points:

  1. 1. Perfect peace is of God, the Preserver, who will keep you in that peace. This is also emphasized in John 14:27 where Jesus reassures his disciples with the words: “My peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

  2. 2. God will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is fixed constantly on Him. This suggests that a very close relationship with God allows you to experience fully the peace that only God gives.

  3. 3. You can only experience this perfect peace if you trust in Him. A doubting spirit is prone to disturbance, confusion and uncertainty. We are called upon to trust in the Lord forever.

The Prophet Isaiah centers his rejoicing in the perfect peace that comes only from God. Let us be mindful of this wonderful provision that is available to us, and rejoice as we keep our focus on the importance and value of a close walk with God.
