What We Believe
Spirit of Joy launched in 1997 with a God-sized vision. God is alive and stirring here, calling us to share the joy of Christ with our neighbors and with God’s help to have a significant impact on life in East Orange County and around the world. We seek to be a faith community in which lives are renewed as we share the love of Jesus by serving others with a spirit of joy. We strive to be innovative yet faithful to our Lutheran heritage, with God’s grace as the motivation for all we do.
Spirit of Joy is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, a national network of 9,000 congregations committed to sharing God's amazing grace with all people. To learn more about what we believe as Lutheran Christians.
Purpose
Our purpose is focused on ACTION for making Kingdom impact:
Know God...as our Savior through worship and the sacraments
Grow in his Love...through small groups, Bible study and prayer
Go Serve...God's children within SoJ, the neighborhood and the world
Worship
Worship at Spirit of Joy is a time to experience God's grace through a modern worship experience that makes use of projection, drama and video. Music by a grand piano and a live worship band spans from fresh interpretations of Lutheran classics and original compositions, to Christian radio hits. As we sing, pray and learn together we are renewed with a spirit of joy for the week ahead.
